Dominant Display Secures Chance For Grand Final Redemption

It was one-way traffic as for the second year running Kangaroos denied Temora a grand final berth.

The Wagga club, who were wearing Albury's strip after a jumpers mishap, dominated the preliminary final at Greenfield Park on Sunday to extend a remarkable finals run.

After looking down and out after two heavy losses to Temora and Young leading into the finals, including a 42-10 loss at home to the Dragons, Kangaroos have turned their fortunes around to be one win away from ending their premiership drought.

Needing to do it the hard way after finishing fourth, Kangaroos have ended the seasons of Albury, Gundagai and now Temora after 24-4 victory over the Dragons.

Only Young stands in their way of their first title since 2009.

Injured coach Nathan Rose feels getting some more players back from injury has helped sparked their turnaround.

"We were never making excuses but I think just getting some troops back and building some continuity within the group week-in, week-out," Rose said.

"I thought if we could do that well we would always be a chance.

"We proved that today."

Kangaroos lost star fullback Jake Mascini on their finals journey,, but it didn't stop them from dominating a Dragons outfit chasing their first grade final berth in 18 years.
